Our top 5 tips for choosing the right façade for your new Coldon home.

Build your dream home in Bass Coast & Gippsland

With so many decisions to ‘get right’ when designing and building your new home, it’s no wonder choosing the exterior appearance can feel overwhelming.

The great thing about working with Coldon for your build is we’re flexible. Regardless of the design you choose from our extensive design portfolio, our team is here to help you achieve the look you’re after.

Here are our top 5 tips to get you started when choosing your facade.

1/ Create a shortlist :: Narrow down façade choices by driving around and getting a feel of the homes in your area. Pick the elements you like, and don’t like, to create a short list. You’ll find your list is a culmination of your personal taste and will likely tie with the feel of your interiors too.

2/ Environmental conditions :: Consider where you live and the most ideal material to withstand weather conditions that will also allow you to create an energy efficient home. Bass Coast and Gippsland home sites provide different factors to consider – our experienced team is across them all so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

3/ Ongoing care :: Think about maintenance. What materials would you like to use and are you prepared to maintain them as required? At Coldon Homes we have a variety of façade designs to choose from incorporating various material types. We build brick veneer homes, James Hardie cladded homes and we have worked with clients to alter façade designs to incorporate Colorbond steel and timber features. All of which require varying degrees of ongoing care.

4/ Budget :: It’s important to understand that some façade finishes may alter the overall price of your home but your Coldon representative will be able to provide direction here.

5/ Be completely happy with your final choice :: The key thing to remember though, altering your façade down the track can be tricky business. It’s not like a bathroom or kitchen makeover – so make sure you’re happy with the choices you make at the start.
