Cladding vs Brick – how do I choose?

When choosing which building material to use for your new Coldon home, you’re spoilt for choice with the variety of materials available.

We offer cladding and brick designs, even a blend of the two!

So how do you know what is best and what will suit your needs?

The answer to that is – it’s entirely up to you – as it all comes down to aesthetics, personal choice and the desired overall look you’re wanting for your new home.

James Hardie Cladding:

Coldon Homes choose James Hardie products for all our cladding and weatherboard needs.

They are a great way to add personality and style to a home design. Cladding comes in a large variety of styles and textures which can be painted in almost any colour opening up unlimited design possibilities.

This is a lightweight material that is easy to work with. Despite its weight, it is considered equally as robust as a brick home.

Another benefit of choosing to clad is the variety of panel sizes and textures available. You can create a very unique and contemporary design with the James Hardie Cladding range and as mentioned above, you can change the colour of the cladding easily with a coat of paint. Not such an easy task bricks.

Brick:

Bricks offer a stylistic appeal to your home. There is a variety for you to choose from that can create a design suited to your taste.

Bricks are extremely durable and long-lasting. They’re also low maintenance and easy to clean.

If you do choose to change the colour of your bricks in time, rendering is an option although this can be costly, messy and time-consuming.
